Nicht alles was cool aussieht, muss zwangsläufig eine schwer umsetzbare Technik sein. Was ich damit meine, werde ich Euch heute in einem kleinen Tutorial zeigen. Ich weiß, dass ich gestern gesagt hatte, dass ich der Nokjägerin kein Tattoo geben werde, aber nun habe icb mich doch dafür entschieden. Was für mich aber definitiv nicht in Frage kam, war ein klassisches Arschgeweih, wie es Francesco Farabi gemalt hat. Meine Version sollte einen schicken Totenschädel direkt am Steiß bekommen.

Not every technique, that looks difficult has to be difficult. What this means will be presented in this little tutorial. I know, that I told you, that I don't wanna paint a tattoo on her skin, but I had a little idea. I didn't want to paint a tribal like Francesco Farabi, but a skull on her butt. 

Nun kann man natürlich komplett freihand zeichnen - ist an einer solchen Stelle, die überdies halb vom Mantel verdeckt, wird ziemlich nervig. Da ich in einer großen Kiste Abziehbilder aufbewahre, suchte ich mir dort einen entsprechenden Schädel aus - dieser stammt von Games Workshop.

You could paint it freehand, but that would be really hard on such a small area, which is half under her cloak. As I collected over the years a lot of decals, I just looked in my box and found a cool one from Games Workshop.

Nun muss die Fläche, auf der das Tattoo angebracht werden soll, mit Glanzlack versiegelt werden.

Now you have to apply gloss varnish on the place, where the tattoo is going to be.

Dann das Abziehbild mit Wasser lösen und auf die Stelle aufbringen.

Now use the decal as normal with water and apply it.

Für den nächsten Schritt benutze ich einen Weichemacher für Abziehbilder - meiner stammt von Gunze. Soweit ich weiß hat Vallejo etwas Entsprechendes. Gerade an einer so gebogenen Stelle wie dem Rücken ist dieser Schritt unerlässlich, damit das Abziehbild plan aufliegt.

For the next step I use a decal softer and paint it over the skull. I use softer from Gunze, but I know Vallejo has something equal. It is necessary for a place like this, because it is the only way to get the decal really flat.

Das Mittel lasst Ihr ein paar Minuten einwirken. Dann streicht Ihr es vorsichtig mit einem Pinsel glatt, dass keine Falten entstehen. Nachdem es fast trocken ist, gehe ich noch einmal behutsam mit einem Gummipinsel darüber.

When the softer starts to dry, you can softly brush over the decal to be sure, that there are no folds in the decal. When it is nearly dry I use a clay shaper do flatten it - but be careful, not to destory the decal.

Damit die Kante zwischen Abziehbild und Haut verschwindet, male ich nun eine Schicht Fußbodenhartwachs darüber - in meinem Fall Erdal Glänzer - ein Äquivalent zum berühmten Future-Floor-Wax.

To get an even surface I seal the whole thing now with future-floor-wax.

Um diesen Prozess abzuschließen, kommt noch eine Schicht Mattlack darüber und Ihr solltet keinen Unterschied mehr zur restlichen Haut sehen.

Now apply a layer of flat varnish - the the skin should look the same everywhere again. 

  

Was jetzt noch bleibt, ist das Ganze nach Gusto auszumalen. Ich habe eine dunkle Farbe benutzt. Eine Mischung aus Dark Sea Blue von Vallejo und einem Hautton (Pale Terracotta von Winsor & Newton). Das Tattoo wird dann regulär weiter bearbeitet - fertig ist ein Highlight Eurer Figur. 

All that stays, is to bring in colour now. I painted the tattoo with a dark colour (mix of Dark Sea Blue from Vallejo and Pale Terracotta from Winsor & Newton). Highlighted and shaded as usual. That's it.
